Job Description
Reporting to the VP Products and Strategy, the Senior Product Manager is responsible for inbound product planning, working with engineering and the user experience team on defining and prioritizing product strategy and features and working with product marketing on outbound marketing and communication. This includes managing the product throughout the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering and user experience, to deliver winning products. It also includes working with sales, marketing, customer service and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager's job also includes ensuring that the product and marketing efforts support the company's overall strategy and goals.

The Product Manager is expected to:
• Participate in the definition of the product strategy and roadmap
• Deliver MRDs and PRDs with prioritized features and corresponding justification
• Work very interactively with engineering, user experience and management to refine requirements and align with the realities of implementation and schedule
• Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities
• Be an expert with respect to the competition
• Be an expert with respect to the customer
• Assist in the development of the core positioning and messaging for the product
• Perform product demos to customers and others
• Lead pricing to meet revenue and profitability goals
• Deliver a monthly/quarterly and annual revenue forecasts
• Provide the core materials for the development of sales tools and collateral
• Propose an overall budget to ensure success
• Brief press and analysts and go on press tours
• Act as a leader within the company

Required experience and knowledge:
• Minimum of 5-8 years experience as a Product Manager or Product Marketing Manager
• Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products
• 3-5 years of experience in a job in the device market (Apple, Palm, Google Android, etc.)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Solid judgment and analytic skills
• Bachelor's degree (MBA preferred)
• Technical background, with experience on the software side of devices
• Excellent teamwork skills
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
• Prior experience in the education market or book publishing a plus
